MTN Uganda launches Wi-Fi SIMU for calls, internet, and MoMo
MTN Uganda has launched the MTN Wi-Fi SIMU. According to MTN, this is a groundbreaking all-in-one device tailored to the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This innovative tool integrates a fixed phone line, high-speed internet, and a mobile money payment solution, simplifying and enhancing business operations.

The MTN Wi-Fi SIMU is designed to streamline the diverse needs of SMEs. Acting as a fixed phone and an internet router, it ensures reliable connectivity for voice calls and data browsing. One of its standout features is the dedicated 039-business number, which separates professional and personal communication, enhancing business professionalism and ensuring important calls are always attended to.
High-Speed Connectivity and Wide Device Support
In today’s digital age, robust internet connectivity is crucial for business success. The device addresses this by leveraging MTN’s powerful 4G+ network, providing high-speed internet access. The starter bundle includes 7.5GB of data, 500 calls to MTN numbers, and 100 minutes to other networks, providing a cost-effective communication and connectivity solution. Businesses can subscribe to a variety of bundles every 30 days via *177*1# or the myMTN app.
How to access the new device
Acquiring the MTN Wi-Fi SIMU is straightforward. Businesses can visit any MTN Service Center or contact MTN’s direct sales agents for assistance with purchase and setup. To activate the MoMo Pay merchant code, businesses simply dial *155# on their device, follow the prompts to enter business details, and receive their unique merchant code via SMS within 24 hours, enabling immediate acceptance of digital payments.
